RomanK
This morning I have found some plates with fern leaves and thin stems (rachis). When I looked on them through my scope I noted that I found the Lescuropteris leaves which is very close to Odontopteris. Terry Dactyll
Roman... For me to be sure with the ID's I always get a hand lens, the plant reconstruction diagram and the fossil and sit down and compare the similarities... and its still a very difficult task to do... and when you think about part formed leafs and the variations in leafsize on the same plant it all becomes a bit confusing lol...so I trust your judgement...Very nice fern plates and photo's... Thank you Steve, I have had some difficulties with ID, but I think that is Odontopteris type fern in any case. Hi Steve, I am still not sure about that fern ID. I see quite unusual petternation on the leaves I called Neuropteris. Some more close ups just to think Unusual petternation Leaves I would call Odontopteris (poss. Lescuropteris) Both type of leaves Edited September 27, 2011 by RomanK Roman http://s1143.photobu.../donbassfossil/
