I remember you posting something on this a couple years ago; the boring bees reminded me. Please tell their story again?

Mummified forest :o Great post Nando.

I wonder how many times, fossil mummified wood has been tossed aside, as roots?

I have found remains of stems at a leaf fossil site before, that are not carbonized or premineralized. Would that mean there mummifed? Hmmm.....I never thought to see if they would burn.

From one italian to another!, I wish when I was in abruzzi 3 years ago, I never had the opportunity to look for fossils in the gran sasso area. I am very impressed with the italian fossil forest link. Thanks for posting

Hello David :)

If you are interested in Abruzzi fossils, here is a link regarding a fiend of mine, the Abruzzese D.O.C Erminio Di Carlo, a pioneer of Italian paleontology. sadly he passed away in Jan 2011.
