siteseer
I like dolphin and other whale teeth too. I tend to keep every one I find even if it is beat-up. That's a nice seal tooth - great condition for such a rare find.

Coco Coco, I was given this ID by another member of the NC Fossil Club. But in looking at your link, it makes me wonder. I am not very astute on echnoids, but I do think they are rather cool when you find one in good shape. Do you have any suggestions on the ID? I too like dolphin and whale teeth, I probably have more than a thousand of them. and the seal tooth, man I was stoked the day I found it. It was laying exposed on top of a sand/gravel bar at GMR. Coco
Sixgill pete, I don't know this genus, but here is the page with all the Eurhodia of this website, and diagnosis : http://www.echinologia.com/galeries/cassidulidae/index.html Yours has a very clear shape, it is doubtless about its normal shape, but it is maybe an adaptation to its environment of life. In any case, it is very probably Eurhodia genus.
