Coco
It doesn't look like other Mako to GW transitionals I've seen, so it may be just a minor pathology, but it's still an interesting tooth, to me at least . I think it is a pathology on this last tooth, because we can see small deformations on the side of the tooth : Coco ---------------------- OUTIL POUR MESURER VOS FOSSILES : ici Ma bibliothèque PDF 1 (Poissons et sélaciens récents & fossiles) : ici Ma bibliothèque PDF 2 (Animaux vivants - sans poissons ni sélaciens) : ici Mâchoires sélaciennes récentes : ici Hétérodontiques et sélaciens : ici Oeufs sélaciens récents : ici Otolithes de poissons récents ! ici Un Greg... Carl O'Cles
researching some stuff and came across this post, I know it is old but wanted to pass along to Daryl S that the Yorktown formation has non serrated, starting to serrate and fully serrated Carcharodon teeth. I have personally collected all three types from that formation in the lee creek mine as for Gizmos tooth in this post. I would concur that it is an escheri, I have a butt load of them from this area, directly out of the choptank formation and possibly the extreme upper calvert, (zone it hotly contested).
