piranha
This fossil flower was found earlier this year and today was the day to finally photograph and post here at TFF. By comparison the Florissantia speirii flowers are almost common as this is the only example of Hydrangea florissantia that I have been fortunate to discover. Previously I posted another clover-shaped fossil with the ID of Hydrangea sp. but Steve Manchester evaluated it at the Rice Museum Fossil Fest and corrected it as a Sequoia-type infructescence. Happily this four-leaf clover mimic is as lucky as its shape would suggest. Shamalama
*Singing* I'm looking over a four leaf clover that I'd over... wait... that's no clover... Dang it! I got my dancing spats on and everything! -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers.
