MikeDOTB
Found this in July of this year while on R&R in North Carolina. The picture was taken right after finding, and had only washed the thick mud that covered it. It has a few dings but it is my first complete Auriculatus and I couldnt be happier with it. It was found sitting right on top of the Castle Hayne formation in that thin brown gravel layer that sometimes coats it. DO, or do not. There is no try. RickNC
I was there when he found it. I wish I could have taken a pic of his face when he pulled that out of his screen. It was so hot that day I thought we were both gonna fall out after all that digging. Edited December 12, 2011 by RickNC

Gray Ghost 27
Great tooth. The only thing I can think of that might be better is finding a confederate belt buckle. WTG.

MikeDOTB
Thanks everyone. I couldnt be happier with that tooth. Took me over two years to find a complete one. Cant wait to find the next. Ha ha, you have three more months before I dig a new shallow bay where eastern NC used to be. Rick is right when he said "fall out" after digging. That was a rough day. I learned my lesson, creeks and rivers in the summer, pits and quarries and mines in the fall winter and spring. DO, or do not. There is no try.
