trempie4
Hey Guys, Anyone have any idea what these came from? A box fish perhaps..... Found probably one a year over the course of a decade. Some of my favorite small verts and therefore it would be nice to know. TIA- Joe 1 Joe... (evolution ROCKS....)

trempie4
You nailed it Obsessed. Bonita "noses" who would have thought..... Thanks. And there goes the strength of my earlier statements from a previous post indicating that I "never" found any fish material at this spot...... Live and learn... trempie4
There are a few more I didn't photgraph but I figured that was enough. I used to position them in order from largest to smallest and imagine I had some exotic spine going on. Oh well... Joe... (evolution ROCKS....) Bill
I used to position them in order from largest to smallest and imagine I had some exotic spine going on. Oh well... That brought a smile to my face. It reminded me of a load of small Carb' flora specimens I found in 2 blocks. There were lots of small specimens of about 6 totally different sp. I cut the matrix on each one so they fitted together as an exotic plant. That was many years ago, before I seriously got back into collecting. Unfortunately I've moved home 5 times since then and they dissapeared during one of the moves. It did look good though, if a little strange. KOF, Bill. Now instead of facing them end to end from largest to smallest you can face them "Nose to Nose." You mentioned in an earlier post about all the finds you have made from that particular location. I hope you might get around to posting some pictures of Dolphin fossils you have found. trempie4
The porp material was pretty prolific, mostly ribs and verts. Tons of inner ear bones. I can't find most of them but I remember I sold 20 to a guy from Japan who used them to make these cool good luck necklaces certain Japanese seem to crave. I do have 4 teeth, perfectly complete, one of which is probably about 0.4" Quite cute. Glad I found it in my 20's as nowadays I'd never have seen it.... Joe... (evolution ROCKS....)
