Jurassic Jim
An awesome day in N. AL today, highs in the upper 50s and bright blue skys. No work seemed like the perfect day for fossil hunting and it was. We had an excellent day finding a number of first and just some fantastic things. These are all Missippian Age. The first is a brachiopod - Schuchertella sp. The next is a Poecilodus tooth, never found one like this one and best of all it is absolutely complete! The next I have no clue. We find bits of the shells of this critter but these are the largest sections yet wonder if there is enough for someone on hear to have a clue. The large pieces have a prominent curved lip and the largest additionally tapers to a sharp edge.
