ghost1066
I stopped by a new road cut on the way home today. This is one I bet has never been hunted. All Ordovician of course in Bedford County TN about a mile east and north of Shelbyville it has several distinct sections. I just did a quick walk through and didn't find much of anything like I expected but I am sure there are goodies to be had. I picked up a few things and found 2 that struck me the first looks like a small pydigium and the second I am not sure about. There were actually 3 together but the other two fell apart as soon as I touched them. It has a spiral shape and what appears to be chambers. I was in a hurry to get a pic before light was gone so it didn't turn out well. I will post a better one later. Any thoughts on what I might have here. Missourian
Any thoughts on what I might have here. The pygidium thing looks like it could be a brachiopod. I like the outcrop photos. Context is critical.
Caleb
Looks like a promising place, pretty too. The pygidium looks to be from a Calymene type trilo, possibly Flexicalymene. Not sure what the second object is. Caleb Midwestpaleo.com

ghost1066
Thanks everyone. Roadcuts like that are all over here and this one is on a new bypass. I prepped a little bit on the pydigium and that is what it is. Very hard to get a pic of since it is small and the same color as the matrix.
