The Dutch And Norwegians In Charleston, Sc

Charleston day 13-15 USA trip 2012,

Finally I'd got in contact with Cade and we started hunting the same day on a little beach nearby. We found lot's of smaller teeth and I found even a pretty Angustidens, missing a cusp. My son Quentin was playing the Patholog-anatomist by disecting dead yellyfish on the beach. After our hunt that day we drove Cade home and admired his fast collecting of sharksteeth and other fossils and we did some very neat swapping there too!

Day two we went by boat to yet another beach. The finds were a bit dissapointing even to Cade, who gave away all of his own finds (he did on all three days!). This guy has lasereyes man!

We saw a dead little dolfin and some big armour pieces of a Limulus polyphemus.

Day three made the whole trip to Charleston a succes. The extreem low tide made picking up the Angustidens teeth a fossilhunters beach party!

All of us did very well, and my little "walk around" with Cade, was extremely productive.

Here are some of my finds, I will post some nice pictures of the big great white later on this week.

Thanks again Cade!

Hope to see you again in 2013!

Regards,

Jan, Michel, Quentin and Martijn

Martijn looks like you had a great trip. Found some nice teeth and got to meet some forum members. Maybe next trip you can get up here to NC. Can't wait to see that big great white.

Wow that is impressive.

Hope you left a little something :D

I'm anxiously awaiting our trip to Charleston in 2 weeks

It's hard to remember why you drained the swamp when your surrounded by alligators.

Pete, next year we will definitly visit North Carolina. This year I also hoped to go there, one of my best fossil friends lives there and I felt quite bad to tell him we wouldn't come up that far this year...We have allready made some rough plans and we will probably start around Charleston, and from there we move up North to North Carolina and South to Gainesville. Again rough plans, but atleast my wife has allready agreed to let me go on next years hunt, hahahaha.

Squali, I am sure you won't find a single tooth after we left that last day ;) Just kidding. It is a awesome place to find teeth and if Cade is your guide, you are in for a great hunt! Good luck!

Kosmoceras, thanks, allthough the teeth are now boxed and labelled in the "Charleston drawer". They look even better now that most of these beauties have there own box to shine in.

Cade, we will meet again next year. "I'll be back!"

Regards,

Martijn

I find fossils look amazing in drawers too. I have some fossil drawers myself, and it makes it feel like a mini museum. ;)
