The 3" Great White Club.

Here's a few photos of my ticket to the club. Found in GMR a couple years ago. It was found a few feet from where another members 3" GW (not yet included in this thread) was found a couple weeks after he found his.

I made mine my icon picture. Kevin had a good idea for a group pic to be taken during the festival this year of the 3 inch great white club. I hope to see you and your monster tooth there Rick.

Front

I know there's a few more over 3" out there...

It's crazy how much this tooth looks like a meg from behind!

Edit: ...or in front. you know - the non-display, labial side

Work done to the tip?

Chile teeth often have this hard conglomerate stuck to them and from looking closely under magnification at this tooth and examining it under black light, I think they must have either buffed off the matrix leaving a small amount covering most of the tip (the tip and the sides of the tip with serrations show up as original under black light) or painted something over it. Possible it was repaired but if so it was an odd repair fixing only the center of the end but leaving the sides and tip intact like possibly filling it a hole. More likely, I think they just buffed off the matrix.

Dang Rick, I have one that measure 2.5" but it is missing most the root, so I bet with a full root I would be close to that 3" mark lol

That is a big GW. What a shame the root isn't complete on it. Is that a SC tooth?

Yes, I found that in a creek in Summerville

I found this one as well. I think if the very tip was there it would hit the mark. Largest lower I have ever seen and it has a massive root.

Kevin's Great White is one of the nicest teeth that I've ever personally seen. Definitely an awesome specimen!

I don't think there will be as many 3" GW as there are 3" mako. Awesome tooth there. My biggest is only around 2 1/2"

I agree I have two 3" Mako teeth. My biggest GW is about 2.5"
