clesley
Very nice find, I have the belief that you are more likely to find an adolescent or female than the possibility of finding a mature male, it is even more unlikely that you will find a large adult male, even more unlikely that you would find a record breaker. I also have the belief that the largest in the fossil record will not be found and that there was even a larger one of any particular species that was never fossilized. I am interested in the biggest representations, and am a collector of greater replicas. You do really have a great find. . . . . . . Now get out there, and find that baby's daddy! Shellseeker
No, it's the largest claw on a Megalonyx. PF, I may have been following in your claw_steps. Here is one that I found 2 weeks ago that looks similar. It is 9.25 inches along the long curvature. Since all look the same to me and were in Florida in the last 150k years, how do I differentiate between Eremotherium laurillardi, Eremotherium eomigrans and Megalonyx? Nice finds. I could not be more pleased -- it has been quite a year.
