Hunting In The Belgian Pliocene

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Over the course of the past week, I've had the opportunity to inspect some suppleted sand heaps containing Pliocene material.

This material consists mainly of shell remains, but from time to time vertebrate remains can be found such as vertebrae from sea mammals (usually badly worn), shark teeth (rare) or other selachian remains.

I think I must have been lucky, because on my first visit, I already hit the jackpot: two teeth of Carcharodon carcharias, the Great White. They're not so small either. Apart from some ray denticles, a few semi-good teeth, and a partial whale(?) vertebra, nothing worth mentioning was found, nor on my second trip to this location. Anyway, I hope you like some of the pictures.

Now I'm really envious ! I have never found a GW. The two you found are really good quality.
