Foshunter
I purchased a group of Ptychodus teeth that were found in S. Dakota and was surprised to find my only pathological tooth. There is a crease running across the tooth crown I believe must have been caused by a sharp piece of shell the shark was feeding on. The tooth must have been damaged when it was still developing at the rear of the mouth plate, any thoughts? If any members have path. ptychodus teeth please post pictures of this interesting shark---Tom Grow Old Kicking And Screaming !!"Don't Tread On Me"
Ramo
I've never seen one like that. The "seam" looks like it goes exactly down the center. I wonder if it wasn't some kind of genetic defect.
