uknown mabey echinoids

I found these in some sandstone cliffs in east gippsland victoria no idea of the age once again they were found in boulders lining the beach at the bottom of the cliffs i hope these photos are good enough.

Definitely fossil sand dollars. Any idea of the age?

no idea sorry if its any help the seam of rock they came from is about 1.6 meters off the ground while we are talking about the age of rocks anyone know of any internet sites where i might be able to find some geological maps of the age of the rock strata for the area these fossils came from i noticed there are some for australia here on the forum but none for where i found these fossils.

When you say Gippsland, Victoria, I am inclined to say these are sanddollars indeed.

Since the specimens on your pics look incomplete it's kind'a hard to be sure, but how about: Clypeaster gippslandicus (McCoy, 1879)?

They are not named gippslandicus for nothing I guess... :D

Those are of Miocene origin.

yeah i think your probably right ive found some more since then and the markings and shape are almost identicle thanks for the suggestion ^_^
