siteseer
You need to identify the rock type that encases your fish and learn the geology of the area to see where the rock type fits within that geology. erose
If you found it in Texas you are in luck. We are blessed with an abundance of geologic mapping, investigation and subsequent publication. Much of it available from the state's Bureau of Economic Geology http://www.beg.utexas.edu/pubs/pubsales.php
Boesse
No offense, but you haven't exactly given us any relevant information. Fish are known from the Ordovician through Holocene sedimentary rocks worldwide. Google is a pretty good start...
sward
If you use Google Earth, you can download geo maps for the US from this website: http://tin.er.usgs.gov/geology/state/ I downloaded the Texas geo map. Whenever I open Google Earth, I can turn this "overlay" on to review the geological information. SWardSoutheast Missouri (formerly Dallas/Ft.
