FossilForKids
Here are some more "rough examples of finds at the ammonite site. The preservation can be quite poor and I hope an angle grinder will take care of that but there are plrnty of ammos in great shape. This place is definitely known by a few but there are numerous site and a little digging and walking promises to reveal more. So far the ammos I have posted are between 1/2 to 2 inches. The get much bigger! If only my teeth are so prized a million years from now!

FossilForKids
OOOOHHHH it gets better Dan! It would be a worthy trip for you. They tend to be rough and need some work if they are exposed. But these are the ones that slice and polish so well. I was there 4 hours and I found 4 Distinct areas to collect and I know there's much more in that region. If only my teeth are so prized a million years from now!

Shamalama
I may have to get those localities from you if I ever get out that way again. I tried finding a Triassic ammo site the last time I was in Delta but no luck. Very cool finds. You may want to contact the guy from this blog: http://ammonoidea.blogspot.com/ as he has done research in that area. Doesn't ost much but he has some info on there. -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. FossilForKids
Hi Shamalama! I e-mailed that guy twice and he didn't respond. However his directions about fossil mountain are right on and the place I got the Triassic appears to be one of the places he goes. A friend of mind has the GPS coordinates and if I get them I'll e-mail them to you or I can describe it. If only my teeth are so prized a million years from now!
