fossiladdict
I managed to do my two favorite hobbies in half a day...knowing that parking was going to be limited after a certain time, I decided to get to the lake early on Friday, and go fossiling hunting till dark, and then take pictures of the fireworks. Photography for me is a job... but also a hobby when it comes to nature, etc. Here are some of the ammonites that I found while I was waiting, with the largest one being 6 1/2". And here is a sampling of some of the firework pictures I managed to capture. I hope you enjoy! My two favorite hobbies in one night! BobWill
The ammonites look like Mortoniceras with those double sholder tubercles and nice keel showing on the first one. I like how the body chamber attachment line on the second one shows so clearly. It looks like the umbilicus should prep out nicely on those. Masterful photography! fossiladdict
Thanks everyone for such kind words . I took over 150 pics of the fireworks so it was hard narrowing it down to just a few. Photographing nature, fireworks, etc. is something I absolutely love doing...the job part comes in where you have to take pictures of the kiddos etc., but I still enjoy doing that just not as much. Can't wait till my trip up North this Fall! Fossils are simply one of the coolest things on earth--discovering them is just marvelous! Makes you all giddy inside!
