Outright, wanton vandalism of a jacketed and re-buried specimen awaiting extraction...

Who would do that, and why? This was in a very remote area, and the site had been kept secret...

These weren't collectors; I hope that the authorities can make the distinction!

i would suppose they might have been a rival of some type or disgruntled person on the extraction team which is not a good thing for sure. people are so strange at times as to thier motives you have to look for divine help most of the time. i would look for this to become more and more reported and happening more often as the economy worsens and people get desparet i think in the four corners area in us they had a bad stretch with looters might still have.

I hope they are cought and go to jail. It is people like this that ruin things for the rest of us. It is a shame that someone would do such a thing.

This leaves me speechless and sad :(

It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.
