Ludwigia
I've been tripping around my area quite a bit the last few weeks since I'm on holiday and have time to spare. Was in Austria as well, but I've kept mostly close to home. Thought I'd start showing some of the things I've already prepped. First of all some things from the Austrian Palaocene. They are gifts from a friend of mine. All I had to do was prepare them. Conomotaria kroisbachensis. 3cm. Turritella sp. 6cm. Voluta supplicata. 5.5cm. Athleta (Volutospina) elevata. 4cm. Amaea(Confusiscala) maxima. 3cm. Ampullina sp. to 3.5cm. A few ammonites from the fields. They're from the Bathonian. Not sure about IDs yet, so first just the pictures. They range up to 8cm. in circumference. Edit: The first 2 are Homeoplanulites sp. The last I think is Planisphinctes incognita. The last ones for now are from the Wutach gorge. Staufenia opalinoides. Up to 7.5cm. Staufenia opalinoides 5.5cm. Ludwigia sp. 3cm. Staufenia staufensis. 15cm. I'll be posting more here later on as I get more things prepared. Ludwigia
Thanks Tim! I forgot to post these ones. Fresh from the Bajocian at Sengenthal. Trigonia interlaevigata with both shells intact. 7cm. And last but not least a Garantiana(Hlawiceras) which I repaired with a bit of stone meal. FossilDAWG
Beautiful specimens and beautiful prepping, as usual. You are an artist. I sure wish we had some decent marine Jurassic around here. I also wish that the US had more of a European attitude towards holidays. So far this year I've been able to take 10 days "vacation", all of which was eaten up by travel and family obligations, and I've had to make up for it by working Sundays (normally my one day off per week) to get caught up on things that didn't get done while I was away. At least I get a lot of vicarious enjoyment from seeing the great things other people collect and post. It gives me hope. Don
