Big Fish, Or Small Shark Tooth

I found this tooth on the gulf shore at Panama City Beach, FL. It is only about 1/4" long.

Looks like part of a "dove" that comes out of the sand dollars to me. It's missing one side.

Fossils are simply one of the coolest things on earth--discovering them is just marvelous! Makes you all giddy inside!

To me, it looks like a surf-worn fragment of a shell, from back near the hinge line, or maybe part of a sand dollar.

It has a tooth-like shape, but it lacks a prime feature of teeth; it has no enamel.
