Ddc_fossil
I have an obsession of the Hemipristis teeth. Anyone know of a good location to find them. Edited September 14, 2012 by Ddc_fossil
Shellseeker
There are spots in the Peace River Florida where they are pretty common. But I imagine you are looking for Maryland spots. Ddc_fossil
Yeah I am. I know that along the cliffs is where most people look. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other spots that aren't so well traveled. On a second note the teeth you have posted are amazing.
sixgill pete
NC has great spots for finding them. But I cannot help you with Maryland locations. Most of what we find here are Hemipristis serra, but we also find the Eocene/Oligocene Hemipristis curvatus. I find them in many of the quarries here, along with many other locations. Lee Creek produces outstanding specimens. Some Lee Creek Hemi's a Lee Creek Hemi parasymphyseal A micro Hemi from Lee Creek, this tooth is less than 1/4 inch A Hemipristis curvatus from a local quarry some H. serra from the same quarry Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt behind the trailer, my desert Them red clay piles are heaven on earth I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt Patterson Hood; Drive-By Truckers May 2016 May 2012 Aug 2013, May 2016, Apr 2020 Oct 2022
