fishman1520 Posted December 20, 2012 Share Posted December 20, 2012 i was searching chalk formation on creek wall yesterday and found a rough looking gastropod,as i was removing it from the sediment,i realized it was sitting on top of an awesome ammonite.so i guess my delimma is,do i display snail side up,or ammonote side up.included a few pictures of some of our other finds yesterday too. erose Posted December 20, 2012 Share Posted December 20, 2012 The ammonite appears to be a much better specimen than the gastropod. I would either go ahead and sacrifice the snail to better prep the ammonite or keep them intact until you find a better specimen of that particular snail.
