Uncle Siphuncle
Hello All January was a busy month on a personal level, so I didn't experience the same high adventure afield as in December, but I still managed to access a few sites for some nice Texas Upper and Lower Cretaceous marine material. Good times. My report can be viewed on the Brazosport Museum website at the following link: http://bcfas.org/mus...RT Jan 2013.pdf Link confirmed, but it may take a couple minutes to load. fossiladdict
Congrats again....love that colonial coral- beautiful! Fossils are simply one of the coolest things on earth--discovering them is just marvelous! Makes you all giddy inside!
erose
That GR coral is awesome! Never seen anything like it. There is a field trip report I have seen for a GR site near Pipe Creek that includes a coral bed. If I find that paper I'll see if it lists species. Uncle Siphuncle
hi td... yeah it was cool to find that little nautiloid with replaced shell as most are phosphatic steinkerns with sutures at this site.... cool to have both modes of preservation. this one almost slipped by as it was hiding in an amorphous glob of matrix.
