Sadly there are many shark species that look so very similar in the chalk meaning to have a positive ID there must be a root. It looks like you had to prep it a bit to expose some of the tooth? Man, I'd be scouring every cm of that material looking for these teeth Daryl. Kosmoceras Posted May 8, 2013 Author Share Posted May 8, 2013 Here are some other Hexanchus tooth from the British chalk - Link Not at all common but I have had some luck lately with two of them and an upper anterior tooth (not posted). The fossils are all from the same location, but these finds were from three seperate trips; the latest from Sunday. Will be out again in a couple of weeks trying out a new location.
