sixgill pete
With all that rock and concretion looking material, I'm surprised the teeth come out looking as nice as they do. many of them do not. The teeth actually wash out of the river and creek channels during storms or when they dredge, not out of the bluffs. The area you have pictured is very very close to the navy boat docks there, they get very nervous about people being in that area now a days. They always have been, my father used to be based there and as a kid in my teens i would collect there with him. if they cought us they would just say "u cant be here" and we would leave. but they rarely got out of that building to talk to us, they knew we were just fossil hunting. even to this day my father can still get on base so we will make a trip there every now and then. scatsob
Very cool. Would you happen to know if there are similar areas to look on Camp Lejeune? I have started collecting teeth from Onslow Beach but the pickings are slim and mostly just small teeth.

MikeDOTB
On camp lejeune, watch for any new digging and depending on the depth, they usually dig up something. DO, or do not. There is no try.
scatsob
Thanks for the replys everyone. I kind of figured there was not much and I will have to travel a bit. I will look for digging and see what I can see. There is a lot of roadwork going on and depending on the road they are digging pretty deep. How about spoils from dredging in the area? If they throw them on land I thought that might be a possability but you would have to know when and where it is happening.
