Just Bob
I aquired some Lee Creel gravel and this is one of the fossils from the gravel that I was having a hard time trying to identify. If someone out there could help me I would appreciate it. The best I could come up with was a whale shark tooth, I am not 100% confident in that id. snolly50
It looks mighty like whale shark to me. Al Dente
The serrations would rule out whale shark. I think it is a Physogaleus symphyseal.

sixgill pete
Whale Shark teeth also are laterally compressed, as this tooth is not, also the full root on a whale shark is much more "bulbous" in appearance. I have to agree with Al Dente that this is a Physogaleus contortus symphyseal.
