vellis
The title pretty much says it all, I found this in the red zone at the north sulphur river. It almost looks like an ammonite the way that the pattern goes around like an ammonite, instead of straight like a baculite. Maybe these are all over there, and someone will know exactly what it is, I just have never seen one in all of my digging around in any of the different red zone (condensed) areas. Thanks, Van
Foshunter
It's part of an ammonite, I don't know what kind but nice find----Tom Grow Old Kicking And Screaming !!"Don't Tread On Me"
lissa318
Definitely ammonite and agree nice find! Maybe Engonoceras serpentinum? Or maybe not... lol Look it and compare. I am fairly new to all of this.

BobWill
I found a piece of ammonite with that distinctive venter shape out there years ago but no suture showing. Sorry, but I never did get an ID for it so I'm looking forward to hearing too.

vellis
Suture pattern looks a bit more detailed than Engonoceras serpentinum. Not sure about this part, but is the Ozan formation wrong time period for Engonoceras serpentinum? I took a close up of the suture pattern and will post it later today. Pachydiscus may be it, but trying to figure out which one. Thoughts?
