I think the other interesting part of this possibility... if it were ever to become a reality... is how we would set about teaching recreated animals the things that are not likely to be carried in their genes. Learned behaviours like mating rituals, nest-building, feeding & hunting practices, migratory habits, grooming and so on. We may reach the point in some animals of of creating "lookalikes" whith the correct morphology but they won't inherently have the correct behaviour to be successful.
