hi, this one is a bit of a mistery. some on the Belgium site say it might be a tusk from a wild boar? there is some bone structure on the inside ring.

does someone have a idea ?

i found it in a river called the Semois( Belgium)

i have been searching the web for ever ( that's how i found this great site by the way) but did not find anything that looks like this one.

It looks a bit to some archaeological artifacts made with bone (aca:Neolithic bone brazalet)

I am afraid it does not look like a boar's tusk to me. The dimensions are wrong. Looks more like an exterior whorl from some sort of ammonite, but then again, it does not look too much like that either. From your pictures, I cannot see any sort of structure to even say it is a fossil. Sorry

Turn it counter clockwise 1/4

Its a "C"

Sell it to bmorefossil, he needs some more letters.

It looks like an interior whorl from a large gastropod in which the actual shell material has dissolved leaving only the hardened cast.

I think Ron is correct.
