megateeth
Yesterday my finds included these three cool teeth: flawless 3.02 inch Mako shark tooth, 5 inch Megalodon tooth in great condition, deformed 4 inch Megalodon shark tooth with a chipped root . Today I found this killer 3.9" Pyritized Megalodon tooth. The pyrite does not photograph as well as it looks in real life but it is all through the bourrelet and into the root. Auspex
All wonders to behold, Bill, and that pyrite dagger would be the centerpiece of any collection "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease! cowsharks
Thanks everyone. Sometimes I find almost nothing and other days are golden. Your "golden" days I think more than make up for the "nothing" days A question about the teeth though. I notice some of the teeth have very shiny roots. Is that a natural result of being in the water with water and sand running over them, or is it from buffing/polishing when you clean them up? That 5" tooth is awesome! It easy to see why you keep going back for more Daryl.
