Shark Tooth + Keg Island(Wilmington)

I decided to make a trip down to Wilmington for a day and a half so that I could paint my new bedroom. Decided to make a trip out to Shark Tooth and Keg Island.

For my first fossil hunting trip, I'm pretty happy with my results. I only spent a few hours out there, hoping to make longer trips once I'm down again for fall semester.

Any IDs would be helpful as well, if I should repost the pictures in the Fossil ID section just let me know.

I think this is modern, but I'm not really sure how to tell. Any ideas on what it is from?

I put the rest of the images in an Imgur album for simplicity... Any idea if the black thing is a fossil? I originally took it because I thought it could be a broken joint or some such, but upon cleaning it, it just looks like an oddly shaped piece of rock.

And Thanks Foilist

Nice finds. You did a lot better than I did there. I hunted for two hours and only found one tooth.

Did you take a sifter or just surface hunt?

And the other side...

From the grocery store I'd say. Looks like it has been cut.

I have to agree with Rick, maybe not the grocery store, but it sure does look like it's been cut.

I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt

Thanks! I used something similar to this to sift, as I've yet to get hardware cloth for my own... 41v4DNGJ5dL._SY355_.jpgI just filled it up, took it to the water, and rotated it back and forth until the sand was gone. Worked fairly well but there wasn't too much area to view everything on.

That's about what I figured. Wasn't sure if it was just a really clean break or not. Thanks
