Decided to make a trip out to Shark Tooth and Keg Island. For my first fossil hunting trip, I'm pretty happy with my results. I only spent a few hours out there, hoping to make longer trips once I'm down again for fall semester. I originally took it because I thought it could be a broken joint or some such, but upon cleaning it, it just looks like an oddly shaped piece of rock. Did you take a sifter or just surface hunt? Thanks! I used something similar to this to sift, as I've yet to get hardware cloth for my own... I just filled it up, took it to the water, and rotated it back and forth until the sand was gone. Worked fairly well but there wasn't too much area to view everything on. From the grocery store I'd say. Looks like it has been cut. I have to agree with Rick, maybe not the grocery store, but it sure does look like it's been cut. That's about what I figured.
