Ludwigia
The farmers are plowing up their fields again, so I was off for a stroll clad in my rubber boots and armed with a cloth bag. Found a few nice things which still need to be prepared, but all I had to do with this one was give the stone a whack. At home I gave it a quick dose of iron powder at low pressure and finished it off with rember. Took all of 10 minutes. Trigonia ?costata from the Upper Callovian in the area around Blumberg near the Wutach Valley. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Shamalama
Was it (the shell) cracked when you split the rock open? Lucky you got an easy one! -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. When a roadcut presents itself, they tend to lurch and weave. To them, the roadcut is a portal, a fragment of a regional story, a proscenium arch that leads their imaginations into the earth and through the surrounding terrain. - John McPheeIf I'm going to drive safely, I can't do geology. - John McPheeCheck out my Blog for more fossils I've found: http://viewsofthemahantango.blogspot.com/
Ludwigia
Was it (the shell) cracked when you split the rock open? Lucky you got an easy one! Yes it was already cracked, but still firmly attached to the matrix. I just transferred a tiny bit from the upper right hand corner which was stuck in the negative.
