JimB88
I found this heavily encrusted platystrophia while collecting yesterday, and it sparked some questions for me. Is the roundish thing in between the bryo or sponges a Petrocrania? Do you think the other stuff is a bryozoan or a sponge? Its from the Upper Ordovician Leipers Formation. I appreciate any help you can give.
erose
Petrocrania and bryozoan would be my ID. I have a variety of Petrocrania specimens from the Cincinnatian that have taken on all sorts of shell shapes. And the fact that there are ramose protrusions makes me think bryozoan, not sponge.
