JimB88
Wow..its been a while since my last trip report. I decided yesterday to not go exploring for new sites (which wasnt doing me any good anyway. ) and go back to the upper Ordovician Leipers Formation, where Ive done well before. First off was a huge Ambonychia that I didnt realize got that big. Its easily three times larger than any Ive found before. The lines are faint and its not complete, but I kept it do to its size. Bivalves are strangely common in this formation... Modiolopsis and an incomplete 'butterflied' sample These seem to occur a lot in a very dark (black) limestone as internal molds. I found many Platystrophia ponderosa brachs including this encrusted specimen..I think the round thing between the porous stuff is Petrocrania; if so, this is a first for me! More pics are coming (as soon as I get some batteries )
erose
Nice. Petrocrania is a good ID I would say as well.
Ridgehiker
Nice finds. The first is a whopper. Often the biggies are found in what were thought to be lots of high activity zone. Lots of flow, organics, etc. One may find a lot of bivalves up to a certain size...nothing in between...then super clam.
