Bev
All I know is that it was found in southeastern Minnesota. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks for looking! Herb
My first impression is possible sponge or maybe stromatoporoid? Bev
or maybe stromatoporoid? That was my 2nd impression. So, can I label it as a stromatoporoid? Cambrian or Ordovician? Seems to be a lot of quartz. The more I learn, I realize the less I know. Caleb
I'm leaning toward Stromatoporid as well. They are fairly common in the Prarie Du Chien group(Oneota and Shakopee dolomite) which is Lower Ordovician. Seeing it in person would certainly be a benefit in this situation though.
