Geologic Or Biologic?

All I know is that it was found in southeastern Minnesota.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

That was my 2nd impression.

So, can I label it as a stromatoporoid? Cambrian or Ordovician? Seems to be a lot of quartz.

The more I learn, I realize the less I know.

I'm leaning toward Stromatoporid as well. They are fairly common in the Prarie Du Chien group(Oneota and Shakopee dolomite) which is Lower Ordovician. Seeing it in person would certainly be a benefit in this situation though.
