You might want to try "Oceans of Kansas" find the page that says "An overview of shark teeth", or something like that. That should help with ID's. I doubt you will find any claws in your samples. If you dissolve some of it I would bet you could find a few micros in there. Stuff like Rhinobatos and other small fish and shark teeth. siteseer Posted October 30, 2013 Share Posted October 30, 2013 Nala, It's hard to say for sure but that does look like Carlile Shale matrix (Turonian age) known from a few South Dakota sites. It can be very rich in fossil fragments with some good shark teeth mixed in.
