Kman100
Hey every body. Here is a question. Why aren't orthoceras 3d? I mean belemnites and baculites are things that you can take out of the matrix and hold in your hand, while orthoceras seems to be just an impresion or something. Pleases enlighten. Auspex
Actually, many Orthoceras are 3-D: LINK "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease! FossilDudeCO
If it helps as well, I know that most of the ones I have seen come out of Morocco, the matrix there is extremely hard, so I always assumed they just didn't dig them out because they can't, or don't want to waste the time since they are so plentiful. Kman100
Ok. Thank you. But what would an orthoceras out of the matrix look like? -kevin
