megateeth
Today I found this 21" partial fossilized crocodilian jaw bone There was just one tooth present but it was still a really cool find. Most of it was buried. Only the front three sockets were exposed. It either broke in half while I was digging it out or it was already broken. I found a similar piece a year or so ago in the same place so I wonder if it is from the same creature. Dennis was on hand to provide perspective. Auspex
That's a fantastic piece; I assume you'll be checking that spot periodically? mrieder79
Only a cat could gaze upon a million year old fossilized jawbone with such a look of superior indifference. Congrats on a great find (the jawbone.) Luck is the most important skill of a fossil diver.

Nice find as always, -Mike Hi Mike, It has been up and down since mid November. It was down to 50 but back up to 57. Today it was 53. I am using a drysuit but it still feels cold. I usually dive between 40-60 feet deep. Megateeth Fossils - Megalodon Teeth, Other Shark Teeth and Info about Megalodon shark tooth collecting. megateeth
I bet you were happy to see that one tooth still there. Awesome find either way though! I was. I barely found it because there was mud filling the sockets. It just looked like a solid bone but I saw a circle then another. Most of it was buried. the last section I found had no teeth in it at all. Megateeth Fossils - Megalodon Teeth, Other Shark Teeth and Info about Megalodon shark tooth collecting. I am sure most did not live around here but I have no clue what it would have been or where to look.
