bluepickup
I found a few nice things on the day of the solstice, 12/ 21 2013. Despite the weather, I went out to find a Pennsylvanian layer I have read about. The snow was too deep to get to that layer , but I found a similar one right off the road and found some neat fossils. The layer I found is about half way up in this 2nd photo. The rocks above were rather precarious looking. Kinda made me nervous.(knock on wood). The first thing I found was this neospirafer. I love this insitu photo. Millions of years and here it is! More from the layer Across the road was a similar layer coming up from under the ground. Here also were some fossils, a little coral and a brachiopod Thanks, and good luck on your trips. Happy New Year! BP

BobWill
Maybe your new site is as good as the one you heard about. No telling what's hiding under the snow. I hope you can get back there in the spring. Take a hardhat. I hate wearing them but sometimes it just makes sense
