Rockin' Ric
Happy New Year Ya'll as we say down here in the deep Carboniferous South! Went fossil collecting for the first time in 8 months on the first day of the new year. Found a new site where Carboniferous plant fossils were everywhere! Found some really nice 3D casts, 2D images, one brachiopod, several too heavy to carry out and difficult to chisel loose! Enjoy the pics. Huge Coal seam under the overhang. Weird Coal seam in the middle of the rock. What is it? Tree trunk or weird rock formation? Lepidodendron. Lepidodendron. Lepidodendron. 3D, decorticated cast with 2D images of plant debris. 1 WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW MEMBERS! If history repeats itself, I'm SO getting a dinosaur. ~unknown www.rockinric81.wixsite.com/fossils

Jeffrey P
Great finds! Happy New Year! I've collected a few times in Carboniferous strata in Pennsylvania for plants. I really appreciate that Lepidodendron scale bark. It looks so PREHISTORIC. Those are fine specimens. Congratulations and thanks for posting.
