toolbox82
Went down to the excavation site of the Wills Point Formation to one of the pits. Spent the day looking for fossils and here is what was found. This is a very small sample of the hundred of fossils found. It is amazing to have found this site in our back pasture by accident excavating this location for groundwater to be used for livestock. Please visit my gallery to view more of the fossils found that day. Thanks for looking,

MarcoSr
Really nice pictures and fossils in great condition. How can you use a pit like this to water your livestock? Are you going to pump the water out to another place or do a lot more excavation? Marco Sr. "Any day that you can fossil hunt is a great day." The last thing I expected was to find this type of fossil preservation in the pasture. There are number of commercial gravel pits around the area that contain numerous Cretaceous fossilized mollusks. Exogyra ponderosa is very common finds and the larger ones make for great door stops. The only fossils i expected to find was the Cret, fossilized mollusks in the water bearing gravel.
