DD1991
I was kind of surprised when I first read the article because I had thought that the chances of finding a good dino specimen on the Arabian Peninsula would be rather nil because all dinos found in Arabia so far were buried in marine sediments and were probably washed out into the Tethys Ocean by massive floods or even large rivers flowing into the northernmost margin of the Tethys along Asia. To give you an idea of whether the Arabian Peninsula's marine Cretaceous deposits might yield dino remains that floated out to sea, here's a couple of geologic maps: http://www.sgs.org.sa/English/Geology/Phanerozoic/PublishingImages/s_map_00.jpg http://paleopolis.rediris.es/LEXICON/KSA/images/Plate_01.png
