Whiskey Bridge Pit Stop On The 3Rd

Hit The Deck

Recommended Posts

Had to take a endorsement test in Austin Friday before last and made a pit stop at Whiskey Bridge in Collage Station on the way home. Finally took some pix of the bridge and even got a train poking his head around the corner to see what I was finding:)

Not sure about the little tooth:

Pic 6 (Not the Matt Schaub kind) Hesperiturris Nodocarinatus

Pic 7 Bolis Enterogramma

Pic 8 unknown

Pic 9 some Otoliths

Pic 10 and 11 is a nice little Bryozoa

took home a few LBs to boot!

the bryozoan is probably "Lunulites."

For the ID of No. 6, instead of Bolis enterogramma (Gabb, 1860), I think you shouild look at Michela trabeatoides (Harris, 1895). The Bolis enterogramma has a smooth shell without the costa diplayed in your specimen.

Also, the otoliths appear to be Signata stenzili Dante & Frizzell, 1965. (See Journal of Paleontology, Vol 39, No. 4, pages 687-718.)

I've been to Whiskey Bridge three times now. The only reason I like Jax more is the fact it's an hour closer. The bryozoan is sweet, as are your pics.

Thanks for the corrections. I was trying to toggle back from a ID on the internet to my pictures, I may need to invest in a field guide.
