Tooth Id

Was just wondering what kind of tooth this is. Found in Jacksonville Fl dredge spoils( mostly Miocene). Hooked mako? Can't be more than a 1/2 ". I can post more pics later if this doesn't suffice.Thanks in advance!

Hooked mako's; Isurus planus are only known from the west coast. I think your tooth is most likely a shortfin mako, I. oxyrinchus.

Ahh, sounds good. Been to this spot a bunch of times and haven't found one quite like this before. Appreciate it!

I agree I. planus is only known from Pacific ocean and anyway the shape of the root wouldn't match with it. this tooth has a very wide crown for a I. oxyrinchus... But it should be that.
