Flag Ponds

On some recent collecting trips along the Potomac, the people we've talked to there said that Flag Ponds was a really good place to hunt. So we're planning on going there soon. Browsing the forum, I found out that walking a little ways north/left at flag ponds can produce good makos, I also heard that Flag Ponds isn't always open, anybody know when? Mainly, I'm curious about what people find there, and what their best shark tooth finds from there are. I still have not found my first meg. So I'm wondering what you all have found there, and what to expect.

Found a 1.25" mako there about 20 years ago.

Went there this weekend. Found dozens of shark teeth and ray dental plates. Also found two cetacean bones - a partial vertebra and a complete bone I have yet to identify.

I refuse to give up my childish wonder at the world.
