gwbh
Finally made it back to the coast for a short time this summer and got one good fossil hunt in. Most notable find of the trip was this small meg, at only 2.3 inches, it makes up for its size with its strange coloration. It has a very interesting combination of dark blues, gray and cream color tones. Its the first meg I have found with an all cream color root also. The bourlette is only half present but it too has the same coloration as the blade. I am used to finding mainly grey to blackish teeth, so this one is a rarity. Here I sampled some of the colors on the blade and bourlette at random spots to show them better Edited July 7, 2014 by gwbh

Auspex
Pretty little dagger! Your color sample swatches really help to see the variations; good technique "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease!
