PetrolPete
On the fourth of July this year, I decided to meet up with a friend of mine from college and go back to Glendive for some more fossil hunting. We spent most of our time in the cretaceous age Pierre shale formation at the same offroad vehicle area I went last time. We ended up hiking about a mile into it and we then started finding fossils, like the area hadn't been picked over as much. It wasn't until we had made it pretty far that we ended up finding the concretions that hadn't weathered apart yet, but they were about 3ft in diameter, so they got to stay where they were. Some of the nature prepped ammos: and one of the the cool suture patterns This one was weird, nautaloid? (and an attached ammo)

PetrolPete
cont. and at least one of these is petrified wood, but the others might be crystalline structures of some sort, I'm not entirely sure
jpc
Hi Pete Looks like a nice outing. Indeed, you rids are mostly correct, except I think your p-wood is all calcite chunks. Yes on the bryozoan and nautilus. The latter is a good find.

Ya, you're probably right on the calcite chunks, it's just weird because the one looks like it has internal structure to it, but it was probably just how it precipitated
