Stratford Hall On Potomac Ids Needed

Harry - Thank you for your answers. I am still curious about the specifics of time to fossilization. In this case we are dealing with fossilization in under approximately 10,000 years. The Miocene whale/porpoise bone from the area I collected is gray in color. The antler is black much like the antler material I collected in Florida. I guess the antler washed down from a different formation.

Harry - I have attempted several pictures of the cut in the antler. These are taken with my low resolution digital scope. The cut looks much better with my binocular dissecting scope but I have no way to take pictures with it.
