Do you ever prep them all the way out of the matrix? Or is that just too much effort?

Hey kauffy! Sorry I missed your post in all the excitement. To your question: As a rule I try to keep them on the matrix if there's any chance of making a good display piece out of it, but if there are one or two that don't fit in I'll take them out and save them separately. There's not much extra effort involved. It just takes a bit more time. Sometimes I leave them free standing still attached to the block, but that has more to do with my aesthetic judgement than anything else. It's a matter of taste. Some guys like them sitting snuggly in the matrix like most of the ones you see prepared out of the lower Jurassic concretions from Yorkshire, others like to have them pirouetting precariously around the block.
